Walter Fuhrmann Jr., 83, of Columbia, MO, formerly of Clinton, IA, passed away on November 29, 2022 in his home surrounded by his family after bravely fighting a long illness. He was born December 31, 1938 in Clinton, the son of W Read Obituary
Walt has been a good friend of mine ever since 2004 when we moved to Lost Lakes in Cocoa Florida. He would always have good conversations with us whenever I would stop by to say hello to Walt and Virginia and the two dogs. We are so sadden to learn of his passing but we know now that he is not suffering. He will always be part of our lives with great memories. Virginia and his family had always been there for him- right to the very end. May Walt look down on all of you and smile. May he rest in peace now.God Bless you.
So interesting to read about parts of Uncle Walter’s life, I didn’t know about. I always picture him a baby blue leisure suit! Before we moved from Iowa in 1987 he was so informative as I had put together a slideshow from my dad‘s old slides and he really knew a lot about what we were seeing in the slides from the Air Force bases and the types of planes. I wish I would’ve recorded it. It was so nice when we were able to come to visit in MO with my mom the last several years and hear him tell stories and get a chance to reconnect. I know I learned something new when I found out that he was supposed to be the best man at my parents wedding but the start of the Vietnam war kept him from coming to Tokyo. Also how they called themselves the Three Amigos Dad, Alvin and Walter As they would go out have some fun!
