Robin Deters' Obituary
Robin David Deters, 70 of Columbia, passed away unexpectedly at home on February 26, 2026.
Robin was born on November 30, 1955 in St. Louis, MO where he was soon adopted by Richard and June Deters. Robin graduated from Columbia College in December of 1979 and spent 35 years working for the University of Missouri specifically in IT security.
Robin married Julie (Havener) Deters on September 7th, 1985, recently celebrating 40 years of love and had two children Collin and Chelsea. Robin was a man full of wisdom and love, he was spiritually driven and believed a positive attitude and a friendly wave could take you anywhere. As his family likes to say, “Everybody Loves Robin!” Robin enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, listening to good music, making delicious food, reading a good book, enjoying nature and a good puzzle. All accompanied by a beverage of course. Robin is survived by his wife Julie (Havener) Deters, his two children Collin Deters and Chelsea Deters, his brother Derek (Darla) Deters, mother in-law Mickey Havener, his sister-in-law Adele (David) Nickolaus, brother-in-law Derek Kewley, nieces and nephews Brooke (Dave) Snyder, Erin Deters, Stacey (Gary) Bradshaw, and Ronan Hess.
A celebration of life will be held at Broadway Christian Church in Columbia, MO, on Saturday, April 18, 2026 from 1:30–4:30pm. We will also have a dinner on Sunday, April 19, 2026 at Shakespeare's Pizza, South from 4-7pm. Robin is deeply loved and will live on in our hearts forever. .
