Mary L. Scott's Obituary
Mary L. Scott, 67, of Sweet Spring, Mo., entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 14, 2012.
Funeral Services are being held Friday, January 20th at 12:00pm at Sweet Springs Assembly of God Church in Sweet Springs, MO; Visitation will be from 11:00am to 12:00pm at the church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Marshall, MO.
Mary Scott was born on August 26th, 1944 in Jennings, FL to the late Rev. John H Rich and Vernell Rich. In 1945, she moved to Malta bend, MO then later moved to Sweet Springs, MO and Graduated High School in 1962.
She was a member of Yokum Chapel A.M.E Church in Malta Bend for many years serving on the Women’s Missionary Society and as the church secretary. She was currently attending Sweet Springs Assembly of God Church.
She was very dedicated to the Sweet Springs Optimist Club and was one of the founders; serving many years on the board and helping earn distinguished club of the year during one of her presidencies.
She carried a love for softball and was a coach for 30 years. She also enjoyed her work at Tyson Foods, in Concordia, MO for 15 years.
She leaves to cherish her memory her mother Vernell Rich of Sweet Springs, MO; one son Larry Scott of Sedalia, MO, and one daughter Tiffany Scott of Sweet Springs, MO. She also leaves three grandchildren Gino, Trey, and Breanna; one sister Anna Kemp of Columbia, MO; three brothers, George Rich of Sweet Springs, Lonnie Rich Sr. of Jefferson City, and John Rich Jr. of Sweet Springs; and also many other loving family members and faithful friends.
