Upon finding my old Lincoln University Yearbook I went to Dr.S’s picture. Then I searched to find him, and see now his passing! The stories he shared in class and his office have been a massive positive force in my life! Things he taught me, I have taught my child! Doctor and his gifts go forward in time! What he shared with me is most valuable, pedagogy is a power gift! I thank him every day!
Dear lovely Aunt and Cousins,
Hope you are all doing well.
We grieve with you for the loss of Dad, Prof. Ssekakozi Engelbert and we shall always hold a memorial Mass for him on his death anniversary "23rd October, 2010" in Uganda.
I am Sr. Margaret Nabukenya (a religious sister) a niece to the late and your cousin sister.
We love you so much and we feel saddened by the death of our dear paternal Uncle Ssekakozi Engelbert whom we cherished but lived not to meet in this earthly life. We knew him as the fifth born and second son out of the nine children born to the Late Grannies Matovu Francis Xavier and Anna Maria Namayanja (RIP).
He was a brother to our dear Dad Muwonge Idelfonsi (RIP) who also happens to be your paternal Uncle and first son of the nine children but the second born. Wherever you are know that you have a lineage that is clear and known and you are greatly loved. I for one have searched for it and have reached some where with the knowledge about it. Slowly we shall get to know each other even at a distance.
You are always remembered in my prayers and everyday I pray for the late.
Take courage and be assured of our love for you. Wish you all the best of luck in all your undertakings.

I just heard of the death of my uncle at a meeting in Masaka Uganda.
He was a great man whom will never be erased in my mind. Intelligent dedicated doctor. His parental love to me was unmeasurable. True parent professor ,good citizen. Not easy to be replaced in this generation.
For the orphans be strong and and live according to his legacies.

To my Dear Philosophy 101 teacher at the University of Kansas in ’73. I used to come over to your little apartment on the campus by the iconic Allen Field House and we would discuss the book: The CIA and the Cult of Intelligence, as well as some parts of your class that I was taking. Your class opened my mind and has stayed with me all these years, and I do think of you often and fondly. I so enjoyed your teachings and gentle spirit. I tried several different time to email you at Lincoln, but I guess you were busy, which is OK. I just wanted to tell you what an impact you made on me and my life since ’74 ish. I have never looked at the world the same since me taking your class. What a gift you gave me. Interestingly enough, as I near retirement, I consider taking more philosophy classes to challenge my mind and keep me actively thinking. I only hope that this message gets to your family, but I do know it will get to you. OK Sakie……….thank you for everything. You did your job on Earth well my friend, rest in eternal peace and your memory will live on in my heart till we meet once again.
I offer my sympathy to the family of Dr. Ssekasozi. I learned of his recent passing last night. I have been honoring his memory all day today, his birthday. I was very fortunate to have two wonderful Philosophy professors during my time at Lincoln University (the other being Dr. Susan Mattingly) and they gave me the encouragement I needed to finish my Philosophy degree in 1990. He was a generous and delightful teacher and it was always a pleasure to take his classes. He was one of the best and the wisest men I have ever known. God bless Dr. Ssekasozi and his family.
To the family of Dr. Ssekasozi, I extend my deepest sympathy in his passing. I was a student of Dr. Ssekasozi and also completed my work study program under his leadership. I’m sure that I speak for all Lincolnites that we were blessed to have been taught by such a great caring instructor.
He fought the good fight and his race is over. Rest In Paradise Dr. Sseksasozi!
Dr. Ssekasozi was one of the most influential and supportive instructors I encountered at Lincoln. I am greatful for the insights he shared and blessed to have been one of his students.
