Darrell Dye's Obituary
Darrell Lynn Dye, age 70, born in Waynesvile, Missouri on January 8, 1955, passed away in his home on September 2, 2025, surrounded by his wife, son and daughter.
Darrell was one of six children born to Burton & Rosalee Dye. Darrell was raised on a farm and enjoyed all the best things about country living: riding around on his tractor, raising cattle, and gardening. Darrell treasured his employees and friends. He often encouraged friends and family in his life to, as he would say, “just be yourself”.
Darrell worked hard his entire life. He specialized in HVAC, and had certifications in all things related to home repair. Certifications didn’t matter so much to Darrell, what mattered was that the work got done. Darrell started his business (Dye Heating & Plumbing) in Fayette, MO then moved to Boonville. He spent many a summer in someone's oppressively hot attic, getting their air conditioner working. Or knee deep in sewage, fixing a plumbing issue. Darrell did what needed to be done so homes and businesses ran as they should. His philosophy was simple: work hard and be honest.
Darrell was known for the twinkle in his eye and witty sense of humor. Darrell found joy and humor in the most mundane of tasks, and was a hoot to be around. To know Darrell was to love him. Darrell’s faith was important to him and he lived his Christian values. As his terminal illness progressed, he was comforted by scripture.
Darrell is survived by his wife Brenda Dye (married for 49 years and high school sweethearts), adult children (Matthew and Jody) and his siblings (Bruce, Neil, Ron, Debbie, and Anne). Darrell fiercely loved his family, and was the best grandpa to his three grandchildren (Alia, Logan and Quinn).
