Carolyn Mathews
I'm a member and Vice President of the Mid-Missouri Civil Liberties Association, (MOCLA) and want to share that Barbara Jefferson was also a member of our Board and very appreciated for her service. She was a sincere and caring person, who was deeply concerned about protecting our civil liberties. She often shared information and opinions she had from frequently attending City Council meetings, meetings of the CPRB Columbia Police Review Board, and other important meetings that were concerned with race, equity and inclusion, and any issues that she understood in a heart-felt way as well as intellectually due to her African American heritage. I am sure I speak for all of us at MOCLA saying that she is deeply missed. Our meetings of MOCLA are open to the public, and shared via zoom, so if anyone is interested in joining us you can call or email Dan Viets, our President, at 573-443-6866, or [email protected]
