Zelma Louise Wright's Obituary
Zelma Louise Wright, 72, of Columbia, MO, passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at the University of Missouri Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at H.T. May and Son Funeral Home at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be held from 10-11 AM Saturday at the funeral home.
Zelma Louise Wright was born December 24, 1950, in Bunceton, MO, the daughter of Van Gerald Roland Sr. and Mary Nelson Wright Roland of Bunceton, MO. She attended Dunbar Elementary School and worked at the Holiday Inn. She also worked for Residential Life at the University of Missouri Hospital where she retired in 2008.
She joined the Mt. Zion Baptist where she sang in the choir. She also enjoyed crocheting, cooking and spending time with her family.
She leaves to cherish her memory her companion James Pettigrew of Columbia, MO, her sons James and Preston Wright both of Columbia, MO, her daughter Yolanda Wright, her siblings Sammie Wright of Fort Wayne, IN, Walter Wrigh (Tracy) of Las Vegas, NV, Van Roland JR. of Columbia, MO, Clarence Roland (Gladys) of Columbia, MO, Clarabelle Roland (Robert) of Columbia, MO, Estella Lee of Columbia, MO, and Hazel Ricoy (Gustavo) of Kansas City, KS.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, five brothers and two sisters and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
