Ze’Avion “ZEZE” O Coats, 17, Of Columbia, Mo. Passed Away Wednesday, February 19th, 2025. Born January 27th, 2008. The Son of Christina Coats and Lawrence M. Johnson.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ze’Avion “ZEZE” Coats, who left this world on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at the tender age of 17. Born in Columbia, Missouri, on January 27, 2008, Zeze was a beloved son, grandson, brother, and friend.
A dedicated student at Battle High School, Zeze was on the verge of graduating in May. His vibrant spirit and infectious smile endeared him to all who had the privilege of knowing him. To say that Zeze was loved would be an understatement; he had a unique ability to light up any room and fill it with joy and laughter.
Zeze cherished his relationships with family and friends, often going above and beyond to show how much he cared. He believed in the power of love and kindness, embodying these values in his everyday life. His dreams looked bright as he planned to build a better future for himself after graduation.
Ze’Avion will be deeply missed by his loving family, friends, and the entire community who had the honor of knowing this remarkable young man. In remembrance of his memory, we encourage all to carry forward the love and joy that Zeze brought into our lives.
Zeavion is survived by his mother, Christina Coats, and his father, Lawrence M. Johnson stepfather, Therrell Jenkins and stepmother, Jennifer Harris. He also leaves behind, His sisters include Matysha Coats, Zaviy Coats, Keya Jenkins, Qyanisha Coats, DeQuandrea Jenkins, and Nylayshia Cornell. His brothers are Marquelle Johnson and Terrence Elbert.
Grandparents who cherish his memory are Deloris Coats of Columbia; Lawrence L. Johnson and Vonya Johnson of Columbia; and Cametta and Duwayne Portis of Chicago. He is also survived by great-grandmother Marva Smith of Sedalia
He was preceded in death by great grandmother Carolyn Green.
Zeavion had a very special bond with his uncle Lee'onte Johnson and his aunt Shaunta Johnson as well as
a loving extended family of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins who will forever hold him in their hearts.

Services will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Columbia. Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the church.
