William "Rick" Vinson's Obituary
William James Vinson, known to the world as “Rick” or “Maserati” was born in Pontiac, Michigan on December 4, 1976, to Betty Jean Vinson and William Montgomery JR. He moved to Lansing, MI when he 10yrs old.
William fought a good fight with Lung Cancer. He ultimately crossed over on August 3rd,2024, peacefully with loved ones by his side at University Hospital.
All people die, but not all people live. Rick lived! He lived his life in the moment. He was happy soul with a smile that was contagious. He never let anything, or anyone steal his joy. He spreads love everywhere he goes.
William loved to help others; he had the biggest heart. He would give a stranger the shirt off his back. He never wanted anything in return. He just loved to do good deeds. William had a passion for music. His favorite songs to sing was anything by R. Kelly. His voice was so beautiful. He loved to rap with his friends and record songs in the studio.
William loved to spend time with his longtime girlfriend and of the past 8 years. He enjoyed FaceTiming and spending time with his kids and making them laugh. He loved to joke, had a joke for every situation and conversation. He also enjoyed cleaning his cars and spending time with his Dog.
His loving, beautiful spirit, and good heart will be remembered by the lives he touched.
He is survived by his father William Montgomery of Pontiac, MI and his soulmate Alandra Chatman of Columbia, MO; Daughters Elayna Vinson (Sabresa Townsend) of Columbia, MO; Rickayla Vinson (Tamesha Smith) of Ypsilanti, MI. Sons William Vinson Jr. (Delfina Hildago) of Lansing, MI; and William Vinson III of Lansing, MI. Sisters Cynthia Vinson of Saginaw, MI; Kelly Vinson of Detroit, MI; Kimberly Vinson of Lansing MI. Brothers Jerry Seawright of Oxford MI; and Donny Williams of Lansing MI.
He is preceded in death by his Mother Betty Jean Vinson and a host of uncles and aunts.
A funeral service for William will be held Saturday, August 17, 2024, at St. Luke Methodist Church at 2:00 PM with visitation starting at 1:00 PM.
