William Cecil Tooley was born on August 28, 1936, in Armstrong, Missouri to Ruth Lee Tooley Ganaway and Cecil Tooley.
He departed this life on October 1, 2023, at St. Joseph Place Nursing Facility in Overland Park, Kansas. Tooley attended Dalton High School in Dalton, Missouri, where he graduated. He was very smart and had very good handwriting. Tooley had many jobs that he mastered, but the one he was most passionate about was a mechanic. He could tell you what was wrong with your car just by driving and listening to it. He was very good at whatever he did. He also was a jokester with a lot of little sayings that made everyone laugh (that laugh was contagious). He was a distinguished dresser and dancer (loved his Budweiser), on any given day if you were looking for him drive down PROSPECT Ave, you'll see him! He will be greatly missed by many.
Tooley is preceded in death by his father Rev. Cecil Tooley, his mother Ruth Lee Tooley Ganaway, his brothers Curtis Ray Tooley, Chester Ganaway, his sisters Myrtle Canton, Verna McKee, Ruby Mayfield and sons Jyrone Smith and Larry Boone and son-in-law Mark Antwine.
He leaves to cherish his memories: three sons: Cecil Tooley (Angela) of Raytown, Missouri, Harold Tooley (Eunice) of Lee's Summit, Missouri, Tyrone Smith (Chantel) of Raytown, MO, five daughters: Mary Jones of Sugar Creek, Missouri, Marlyn Williams (Ray) of Omaha, Nebraska, Phyllis Smith of Omaha, Nebraska, Quincelia "Gail" McCuiston (Frank) of Blue Springs, Missouri, and Renetta Antwine of Independence, Missouri, two sisters Genelle Hawkins and Devolia Eubanks both of Columbia, MO, three brothers Delbert (Joyce) Ganaway of Slater, MO, Lynn Ganaway of Boonville, MO, Glenn (Janet) Ganaway of Broken Arrow, OK, also companion Ella Jackson of Kansas City, Missouri. He also leaves 28 grandkids, and a host of great grandkids, and relatives.
