William Lear's Obituary
William Lear, 65, of Columbia, was called to his home on Monday, June 14, 2021, at Columbia Manor in Columbia, after dealing with many health issues. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at the Grandview Baptist Church in Centralia at 11:00 AM. There will be no visitation.
Bill was born on December 7, 1955 the son of Truman and Laura Lear. Bill was a graduate of Hickman High School in 1974. He met and married the love of his life Paula Lorenz on October 25, 1980. To this union two children were born Heather and Matthew. Bill worked for Blackmore's Automotive and Ozark after graduating High School. He then made a career at the Columbia Daily Tribune for almost thirty years before retiring. Bill was a loving husband, father, grandfather, , brother and uncle.
Bill leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 41 years Paula, daughter Heather Casey(Chris) of Ashland, MO, his son Matthew Lear of Columbia, MO, two grandsons Dominick Lansche and Kaleb Casey, and a granddaughter Melena Casey, his sisters Donna Bozarth(Marvin) of Columbia, MO, and Marilyn Snell of Jackson, MS, his brother Gary Lear(Sharon) of Austin,TX, many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, Mother-In-Laws Cheryl Lorenz and Carolyn Burks, Penny Lorenz Anderson (Andy)(Sister-in-law), Jerry Burks(Ashley) brother-in-law and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Ida Bridgewater, Floyd and Frankie Harrison, Paul and Margaret Lorenz, his parents Truman and Laura Lear, his sister and brother-in-law Ida and John Sanders, brother-in-law Jerry Snell, nephews Jay Sanders and Britt Snell and father-in-laws Paul Lorenz and Sonny Burks.
