William Gibson, 74,of Boonville, passed away surrounded by family on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia. Services will be private.
William "Bill" Ansel Gibson was born on July 18, 1943 in Franklin, MO., the son of Fred and Azil Skaggs Gibson. He married Mary Ruth Acton on August 3, 1964 in Boone County Missouri.
Bill was a 35 year Employee of the City of Boonville beginning as a garbage collector after which he read water meters for many years. The remainder of his employment was at the city water treatment plant from which he retired in December of 2012.
Survivors include his wife Mary Ruth Gibson of the home, his son and daughter-in-law of Mark and Robin Gibson of Callao, MO., his daughter Amy Gibson of Boonville, MO., four grandchildren Markus Gibson, Tiffany Gibson, Hannah Gibson and Christina Boggs, and one great-granddaughter Sophee Bauman, one brother Elleck Gibson of Slater, MO., and two sisters Brenda Messerly of Marshall, MO., and Helen Parker of Fayette, MO.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Jim Gibson and is sister Bessie Owens.
The family requests any donations be made to the American Cancer Association and American Diabetes Association.
