William Fry's Obituary
William Fry, 85, of Sedalia, MO. passed into his heavenly father’s arms on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at North Kansas City Hospital. Funeral services will be Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Taylor Chapel United Methodist Church at 11:00 am. Visitation will be from 10-11 am Saturday at the church. A Masonic service will be held at 9 am at Taylor Chapel on Saturday before the visitation.
William ‘Bill” Monroe Fry, Sr. was born June 25, 1929 in Pettis County, son of the late Nora Brown Bishop and Kerry Fry. Bill attended C.C. Hubbard School in Sedalia, Missouri. He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Progressive Missionary Baptist Church in Kansas City, Missouri. Bill, a U.S. Army veteran, served during the Korean War, 1950-1953.
Bill married the late Naomi Parks in 1949. To this union seven children were born: the late William M. Fry, Jr. (Sally); The Reverend Dr. Teresa Fry (Frank) Brown, of Lithonia, Georgia; Miriam Frye of Phoenix, Arizona; Kenneth Fry of Kansas City, Missouri; Leonard (Erica) Fry of Columbia, Missouri; Richelle L. Fry (Gregory) Skinner of Denver, Colorado; LaWanda Webb of Las Vegas, Nevada.
Bill was a 32nd Degree Mason in the Amos Johnson Masonic Lodge in Kansas City, Missouri, where he was a youth mentor for many years. He was also a past member of the Shriners in Kansas City, Missouri. Among his various jobs, he was a shipping clerk for the Kansas City Freight Trucking Company; and a journeyman electrician at Independence Power and Light in Independence, Missouri for over 10 years. He relocated to Sedalia, Missouri and was employed at Nuclear Reactor Plant in Fulton, Missouri. He retired from Wilson Foods in Marshall, Missouri. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking-especially bar-b-que, and restoring cars.
On August 1, 2008, Bill married Deborah Gay, and gained three additional sons, Michael (Kelly) Gay and Paul Gay, both of Marshall, Missouri; Reggie (Kristie) Gay of Sedalia, Missouri.
Bill will always be remembered by his devoted and loving wife, Deborah; his sisters, Maxine Gordon of Waterloo, Iowa; and Julia Lee Bell of Denver, Colorado; his brothers Stonewall Bishop of Littleton, Colorado; and Arthur Seabury, of Sedalia, Missouri. His children, grandchildren Jhaykeen (Cindy) Frye of Phoenix, Arizona, Dr. Rikesha Fry (Mark) Brown, and Veronica Tinsley, of Lithonia, Georgia; Tyrell Peterson of Phoenix, Arizona; Jamal Fry of Kansas City, Missouri, Tyree Peterson, of Las Vegas, Nevada; Jaqueline Fry (Clint) Turek of Columbia, Missouri; Christopher Miles, Mackenzie Fry, Ray Fry all of Kansas City, Missouri; Evelyn and Trinity Fry of Columbia, Missouri.
