William Crum's Obituary
William Crum, 74, of Columbia, slept into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, September 30, 2017, at Harry S Truman VA Hospital in Columbia. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at H.T. May and Son Funeral Home in Columbia at 12:00 PM. Visitation will be from 11-12PM Saturday at the funeral home.
Today we gather to celebrate the life of William Leroy “Crum”; the son of Clarence Sr. and Gertrude Crum. William was born on December 7, 1943 in McBaine Missouri.
William attended Douglass School in Columbia Mo. until integrating to David H. Hickman High school in the twelfth grade. After High school he was drafted into the United States Army where he served four years. During his tour of duty, he spent time in Korea. Upon his return to the states. After discharge from the military William went to work for the City of Columbia and retired after twenty-nine years of employment.
William was united in marriage on August 16,1969 to Brenda Galbreath Russell; and they have three children. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, and his grandchildren who were dearest to his heart.
William departed this life on Saturday September 30, 2017. Proceeding him in death were his parents and brother Donald Crum. He leaves behind his beloved wife Brenda, son Robert (Natalie) Russell, daughter Alicia (James) Porter, son Christopher Crum, two brothers George and Clarence Jr. Crum, a sister Brenda Kay Crum, six grandchildren and 2 great granddaughters.
