Willard Tolson's Obituary
Willard Tolson, 68, of Columbia, Mo., passed into eternity on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at his home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at the H.T. May and Son Funeral Home in Columbia at 12:00 PM. Visitation will be from 11-12:00 PM at the funeral home.
Willard Tolson was born October 29, 1948 in Fayette, MO. the son of Ernest W. and Martha O. Gaines Tolson. Willard grew up in Fayette and attended Fayette Public Schools, graduating in 1967. He attended Lincoln University in Jefferson City for one year and then joined the Army serving in Germany. Following his stint with the Army, he attended Central Methodist College and Columbia College where he played on the basketball team. Willard was formerly employed at the University of Missouri.
Willard was a fun-loving guy, very personable with many friends -both human and four-legged. He loved dogs and horses almost as much as he loved people. While he loved to party and have fun, he also relished in helping people. He was there to help with his mother when she became ill, and he would give a helping hand to his family and friends whenever he could.
Willard was a devoted son , brother and friend. He leaves to cherish his memory one brother Wilfred(Lois) Tolson of Columbia, one son Willis Roark, three nephews Marcus(Danielle) Tolson, Michael(Leah) Tolson and Aaron(Amanda Barnes) Tolson, two great nephews Skylar Tolson and Donavan Tolson, and one great niece Aria Tolson. He also leaves a host of cousins and friends; with Special appreciation to Mary Lee Cross, Duey Howard and Billy Coats who helped him greatly during his illness.
Willard was preceded in death by his parents.
