Warsh Albert Elbert Sr.'s Obituary
Warsh Albert Elbert Sr., 97 of Boonville departed this life on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 in New Franklin. Warsh Elbert was born February 6, 1914 in Prairie Home, Mo. the son of Prince Albert Elbert and Virgil Campbell Elbert.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, May 7, 2011 at Morgan St. Baptist Church, burial in Boonville, Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12-1 Saturday at the church.
He was united in marriage to Eola Lucille Coleman and she preceded him in death. He later married Jewell Quantrell and she preceded him in death.
He was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Clark’s Fork, Mo. and his favorite song was I’ll Fly Away.
During his lifetime he was a truck driver, where he owned and operated his own business. He later retired from Holsum Bakery.
His favorite past times included reading the bible, especially the book of Job, attending church, fishing, hunting, woodworking and watching westerns on television. Mr. Elbert met no strangers and was loved by so many.
He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, one sister, and five children. He leaves to cherish his memory his children Georgia Mae Elbert Chester, and Nettie White both of Boonville, Mo., Warsh Elbert Jr. of Columbia, Mo., Thomas Elbert of Chicago, Il., Arlene Alexander of Dallas, Tx., Walter Overton of Kansas City, Mo., and Margaret Brown of RIchmond, Va., and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mr. Elbert will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
