Vonthilla Marie Bennett 60, of Columbia, MO, passed away on Wednesday, October 17, 2024, at Boone Hospital Center. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at 1:00 PM at St. Luke United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held from 12-1PM on Saturday at the church.
Vonthilla Marie “Baby” Bennett, age 60, of Columbia, MO, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 17, 2024, at Boone Hospital Center.
Born on August 13, 1964, in St. Louis, Missouri, Baby was the beloved daughter of Vonthilla L. Bennett and Jessie Moore. She accepted Christ at an early age, attending Kirkwood Road Christian Church, and grew up in the Kirkwood School District. Known for her lively spirit, Baby always had a joke ready and could light up any room with her warmth and humor.
At 19, Baby moved to Columbia, Missouri, with her sister, where she started her own family, bringing two beautiful daughters, Erica and Kayla Bennett, into the world. Her daughters were the light of her life, and she loved them deeply. Despite her battle with cancer, Baby remained dedicated to her work and held strong to her faith, inspiring all who knew her with her resilience and strength.
Baby leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Erica and Kayla Bennett, along with her adored grandchildren, Erinna, Erielle, and Elijah Bennett. She is also survived by her loving siblings Lorraine Bennett, Mardell Stroud, Susie Fields, Rita Moore, Nathaniel Bennett, Elroy Bennett, and a bonus brother, Orlando “19” Jones; her uncle Odell Bennett; sister-in-law Bobby Jackson; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends. Among her cherished family members was her favorite niece, Twila Bennett, and her great-niece JohnEisha Logan, with whom she shared a special bond.
Baby was preceded in death by her parents, Vonthilla Bennett and Jessie Moore, her brothers Eugene and Glenn Bennett, and her sister-in-law Dee Little (Bennett).
Baby’s joyful spirit, unwavering love for family, and strength in the face of adversity will be fondly remembered by everyone who was blessed to know her. She leaves a legacy of love, faith, and resilience that will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
