Vernell Rich's Obituary
Vernell Rich of Columbia,formerly Sweet Springs, Mo., entered into eternity on Wednesday March 20, 2013 at The Bluffs. Funeral services will be held Tuesday March 26, 2013 at 1PM at HT May & Son Funeral Home in Marshall. Visitation will be from 12-1 PM at the chapel and Burial will follow the services at Fairview Cemetery.
Vernell “Sug” Coffee Rich daughter of Willie Coffee and Georgia Smith was born in Hamilton County Florida on November 11, 1924. She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, and friend. In her early life she was raised up in a Christian home, knew all about going to church. In 1942 she was united in Holy Matrimony to John H. Rich, who preceded her in death in June of 2004. Her father in heaven called her home on March 20, 2013; she was a faithful member of Yokum Chapel AME Church for many years. She worked as a CNA for 40 years.
Cherishing her memory are her four loving children, George Rich (Diane) of Sweet Springs, Lonnie Rich of Jefferson City, John Rich (Jackie) of Sweet Springs, and Anna Kemp (Oscar) of Columbia. She leaves her brother Roosevelt Coffee (Eartha), and sisters Annie Lee Marine and Geraldine Marshall, all of Belleville, FL, and a sister-in-law Amanda Everage of Kansas. She also leaves 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, a host of Nieces and Nephews, and a special niece Annette Hall of Miami, FL
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter Mary Scott, two sisters, Ola Mae Brown and Flora Mae Lundy, one brother Nathaniel Coffee, and one brother-in-law JC Marine, and one granddaughter Lakeidra Kemp.
