Verdell Nash, 56, of Columbia, MO, passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at the University of Missouri. Services will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at 3:00 PM at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Columbia. Visitation will be from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the church on Saturday. Verdell Nash born on September 16, 1967, to the union of Alberta and Edward Nash. Verdell was affectionately called Girl Girl! She attended elementary and high school in Chicago, Illinois. She later furthered her education in Columbia Missouri, where she planned on attending nursing school. She was sadly called home on November 9th of 2023.
Verdell accepted Christ at a very young age. She attended First Saint Peter All nation Pentecostal Church of God in Christ under the leadership of her grandparents, Bishop Edward and Dr. Aslene Nash.
Verdell was united and holy matrimony to Marcus Rex in the 1996.
Verdell lived a very remarkable life. She spent a lot of time taking care of the elderly she was loved by everybody she met. Verdell will be truly missed by all. Verdell was a devoted mother, Grandmother and wife. She will truly be missed.
She leaves to cherish her memory 11 children Dwight (Stephanie), Kenneth (Joann), Robert (Quantanya), Brian, Jasmine, Dantrell (Jessica), Marcus, Jermey, Aniyaha (Cindy), Jumair, and Jerusha Nash
Her 17 beautiful Grandchildren; Ka'lea, Azai, Azariah, Ka'tai, Nala, Nia, Jakeleon, King, Royal, Lucile, Azelya, Aveaya, Jakiya, D'Mysia, Laedyn, Kynlee, Cameron her mother; Alberta James; sisters Jacqueline, Lillian (Keith), Carolyn, Karrililian, Susanna, Latonya, Maggieal, Pauline (Dante), Christine, Corrine and Tierra Brothers; Edward (Regina), Walter, Johnny, Carvin, and Anthony. Aunt; Evangelist Maggie Nash-Anderson Bonus daughters: Kenya and Vanjie and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Verdell was preceded in death by her grandparents, Bishop Edward and Dr. Aslene Nash, Verdella James and Otha B Hayman Sisters: Aslene and Josephine Nash Brother Robert Tyler Uncles Martin Nash, James Catchin, Bishop Ben Anderson Aunt: Minnie Pearl James, Great aunts: Laura Montgomery and Alberta Newman Nephews; Johnny, Lionel, Henry Jr, and Terontay. Nieces: Aahnyia and Maggie.
