Vera M. Gordon's Obituary
On March 27, 1929 In Wardell , MO., an angel (Vera M. Gordon) was born to the proud parents of Dock and Jennie Mae Wheeler. They later moved to Charleston, Mo. with four other children, brother Robert Lee Wheeler(deceased) Three sisters Haughty Bell Henderson(recently deceased) H. Catherine Henderson( Columbia, Mo. and Ann Wheeler died at an early age.
Vera was united in Holy Matrimony on February 13, 1947 to Edward Charles(EC) Gordon, but shortly after he was called home to rest.
In 1953 Vera moved from Charleston to Texas. There she completed her high school education and secretary training. She was employed at Tyler Piper refinery. In Tyler Texas as a core machine operator and a part time insurance agent for 30 years. She was a faithful member and secretary for True Vine Baptist Church in Tyler texas, retiring in 2001.
In 2004 she decided to move to Columbia, MO to be close to her family. On August 9, 2009 she was called home to join her loved ones, including three other that impacted her life: Milton, William and Faye. She will truly, truly be missed by those she left behind, Sister (Cat) nephews Robert Lewis(Boy) Robert Jr. (Cadance, Buffalo, NY.. Jeannette (Sevand) and Angelene(Spoiled Ann) and many great, great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
