Teresa Ann West-Dehling's Obituary
Teresa Ann West-Dehling, aged 68, passed away on March 11, 2026, in Marshall, Missouri. Born on May 2, 1957, Teresa spent her formative years attending Washington Grade School and later graduated from Smith-Cotten High School.
Teresa was widely recognized in her community for her dedicated service as an Animal Control Officer for the City of Richmond, Missouri. Known affectionately as Terry, she was passionate about her work and made significant contributions to animal welfare in her locality.
Teresa's love for animals extended beyond her professional life. She was an avid animal lover, cherishing all creatures, with a particular fondness for cats. Her hobbies revolved around anything animal-related, reflecting her deep compassion for all of God's creatures.
A celebration of Teresa's life will be held on Saturday, March 20th, at Indian Foothills in Marshall at 2:00 PM. The gathering will feature a communal meal, with meat provided. Attendees are kindly requested to bring side dishes and desserts. In honor of Teresa's love for all flora, any type of flowers, including wildflowers, are appreciated. Afton-Amy Marie West remained Teresa's main caregiver, wonderful daughter, companion, and standing in sister Linda Coats (LEFEVERS).
In lieu of traditional donations, contributions to support her grandchildren, Haley Brown, Alayna Derboven, Tristen Derboven, and Alessa Derboven- West, are greatly appreciated,. Mirroring Teresa's prioritization of family and animals in her life.
Teresa was preceded in death by her mother, Wanda West-Blair, her brother, Robert Joseph West Jr also loved by her remaining two siblings, William (Billy -West & John Scott West. Her legacy of kindness, compassion, and dedication to animal welfare will be fondly remembered and sorely missed by all who knew her.
