Sylvester Graham's Obituary
Sylvester "Buzzy" Graham, 80, of Boonville, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at Lakeview Healthcare and Rehab. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at 11 AM at H.T. May and Son Funeral Home in Boonville. A visitation will be held from 10-11 AM at the funeral home. A repast will be held following the burial at the Eagles Lodge in Boonville.
He was born to the late Paul and Nina (Harvey) Graham on September 27, 1937, in Harrisonville, Missouri.
Sylvester graduated in 1956 from R.T. Coles High School in Kansas City, Missouri, and joined the US Marine Corp. He was stationed in Honolulu, HI, and served from 1956 to1962. He worked at Armco Steel, National By-Product, and finally retired from Interstate Brands Bakery after 16 years.
Sylvester was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Bunceton, Missouri and enjoyed gardening, watching sports and westerns, and spending time with his family. He was a joyful soul that was often the life of the party.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his five brothers, Paul Jr, Truman, Joe, Robert and David, and his three sisters, Bessie Beatrice (B.B.) Farnsworth, Josephine (Josie) Nelson and Amanda (Mandy) Snead and four-in-laws, (Eleanor Graham, Ann Sweets, Roy Snead and Tim Nelson).
To cherish his memories, Sylvester leaves his loving wife of 50 years, Anna (Pat) Graham, 5 daughters, Alicia Carter (Victor), Sylva Graham (Larry), Nina Graham, (all of Kansas City, MO), Kim Cooper (Kevin) of Detroit, MI, and Jody Boyer (Darryl) of Atlanta, GA, 3 step daughters, 4 sons-in-law, 5 Sisters-in-law; 4 Brothers-in-law, 18 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, (one of which he and Anna raised), and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other loved ones.
