Stephen P. Krebs' Obituary
Stephen Paul Krebs, 67 of Boonville, Missouri, passed away June 18, 2022.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes in Columbia, Missouri on Friday June 24th at 12 noon with Father Mark Smith officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 10:30 a.m.
Born on Mother’s Day, May 8, 1955 in Los Angeles, California, Stephen was the son of the late Paul Edward Krebs and Patricia Lenore Webb Krebs. Steve’s father, Paul, was in the Navy for the early years of Steve’s life. His family was always on the move, as they lived in Hawaii twice, and in Japan before settling in southern Maryland. He graduated from Crossland High School in Temple Hills, Maryland in 1973. He moved to Southern California in his early twenties where he lived for twenty-plus years.
Steve had a love for history his entire life, especially military history in which he could be considered an expert. He loved to read, visit museums, and always loved to learn something new. He enjoyed cooking of all kinds and was always up for a good meal. He enjoyed craft beer, always looking for a new kind to add to his collection. He enjoyed traveling, taking many trips abroad and around the United States. Steve had a great love for his family as they were the most important part of his life.
In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his sister Nancy Pirner, brother-in-law Albert Pirner, and nephew Ivan Tolbert.
He is survived by his son Nathaniel Paul Krebs, and Theresa Krebs his wife of 29 years. Other survivors include his brother Scott Edward Krebs; sisters-in-law Gail Schweitzer, Stacey Cassimatis, and Jennifer Schweitzer; brothers-in-law Ted Cassimatis and Jim Kemper; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jack and Ruth Schweitzer, and numerous nieces and nephews, including Kati Lehmann, Krysta Pirner, Karla Pirner, Elisabeth Rogers, Stephen Krebs, Sydney Tolbert, Caitlyn Cassimatis, Nicholas Cassimatis, Abigail Cassimatis, Carissa Cassimatis, Alexis Cassimatis, Mercedez Kemper, Ruth Ann Kemper, Whitney Floyd, and Phoebe Kemper.
Memorial contributions can be directed to Nathaniel Krebs 756 Idlewood Ct., Columbia, MO 65203, to be used for his college education at the University of Missouri.
