Sherrie J. (Hostetter) Hollon, 68, passed away May 11, 2024, at Manor Care after a hard fought battle against cancer. Sherrie was born to Eddie Jo and Gloria (Gross) Hostetter on January 15, 1956 in Milan, MO.
Sherrie survived by her daughter and daughter-in-law Jaime and Jessica Guyton of Kirksville, MO, father and step-mother Eddie Jo and Jean Hostetter of Winigan, MO, and sister Debra (Chuck) Newton of Texas. She is also survived by several nephews, nieces, and cousins whom she loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Gloria, brother Russell Hostetter, and sister Jean Stepp.
Sherrie’s life goal was to be a mother and she was the best mother and mother-in-law anyone could ask for. She was also the caregiver of so many of her family members and will greatly be missed by all of her family and friends. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends playing cards, thrift shopping, and collecting old cameras.
Sherrie’s professional career was also that of a caregiver working as a direct care staff for various nursing homes, residential care facilities and ending her career with Preferred Family Healthcare with her retirement in 2019.
Sherrie’s wish was to be cremated and to not have a formal funeral. Her family will hold a celebration of life at a later date.
