Sharon Jane Kemp's Obituary
Sharon Jane Kemp, 65, of Boonville, MO, passed away on Wednesday, May 6,2020 at her home. Services will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2020, at 12:00 PM at H.T. May and Son Funeral Home in Boonville. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturday at the funeral home.
Sharon Jane Kemp affectionately known as "Baby Sis" was born December 11, 1954 to Oscar and Amy Jane Baskett Kemp. She was one of six children. After receiving Christ as her personal Savior, she departed this life for a better one May 6, 2020.
Sharon grew up in East of Boonville. She attended the Boonville Public School system and graduated from Boonville High School and Boonslick Vo-Tech’s LPN Program. She worked at several nursing facilities, Unlimited Opportunities Inc., Casey’s General Store and the Pop Shop. She retired from Boonville Correctional Center in 2013 after 26 years of service. Sharon continued working for UOI after her retirement from BCC.
Baby Sis was a straight shooter, she said what she meant and meant what she said. She held the respect of those who knew her. Sharon would greet you with a big smile. She loved to play softball, doing crafts, decorating and coordinating weddings. She also loved going to garage sales.
Sharon was an unpublished author. Her stories were read at Boonslick Regional Library during story time. She often wrote about her children and those in East of Boonville. Her writing included poems and tributes for the families of people who impacted her life.
Sharon leaves her 2 beloved children, Kamyra Starr and Kameron "Gus" Kemp to cherish her memory. As well as her grand babies Kameron Za'Riyah, Zy'aire, Za'Moni, Zaiden and Faith who called her Momma.
Sharon is also survived by her brothers, J.T. Baskett of Rock Island, IL; Frederick (BoBo) Kemp Boonville, MO; Oscar Kemp, Sr. (Anna) Columbia, MO; Larry Paul Kemp (Kelly Lachance) Salisbury, MO,
Sharon was proceeded in death by both her parents, 1 brother Kim Lee and 1 niece Lakeidra Lynn Kemp.
Sharon also leaves nieces, nephews various relatives and friends who cherish her memory
