Sevand Brewer's Obituary
Sevand Brewer Sr. passed away Monday March 9, 2026, at Delmar Gardens on the Green in Chesterfield Mo. Services begin at noon on Saturday March 21st at St. Luke Methodist Church, 204 East Ash, Columbia, Mo, 65203. Services will be live streamed at 1:00 PM through the HT May & Son Funeral Home Facebook page and can be found at https://www.facebook.com/htmayfuneralhome.
Sevand was born February 16, 1945 to Walter Brewer and Arlee (Wade) Anderson in Charleston Mo.
Marrying his eighth grade sweetheart Jeannette Henderson and raising three children while living in Columbia, Mo. is one of many things Sevand proudly accomplished during his 81 years of life. He was the fourth big brother of 15 children and a heart transplant survivor. From 1965 -1968 he served in the United States Army during the Vietnam war as a SP5(p) crew chief/door
gunner. He worked for the City of Columbia Water and Light Department for over 30 years. He was Past Master of the Rising Sun Lodge #164 where he had been a member for over 30 years.
Since he loved his cars and trucks, it’s no surprise he worked for Joe Machens Ford and Bill George’s Phillip 66 but it might surprise some that he was a cook at Mark Twain Steakhouse. He was also a well known lawn care businessman in the community, easily identified by his cowboy hats and boots. His cowboy look was so identifiable he was given the nickname “Hee Haw” by the children of Creative Futures Child Care.
He is survived by his daughters Thedus (Trinette) Brewer-Jones of Florissant, Althea Brewer of Columbia; his son Sevand Brewer Jr. of Centralia; his four brothers, six sisters, six grandchildren, several great grandchildren, in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife Jeannette Brewer, his parents Lloyd and Arlee Wade, his brothers Joe Bell Anderson, Leonard Lee Brewer and Sechrone Wade.
