Ruth Wooldridge's Obituary
Ruth Wooldridge of Boonville, Missouri, previously of Lebanon, IN, died on April 19, 2024. Ruth was born in Pigeon Roost, Kentucky, Clay County, on January 29, 1941, to Ada Bertram Martin and Daisy Myrtle (Hammons) Martin.
A celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, April 22, 2024, at H.T. May and Son Funeral Home at 2:00 P.M.
Ruth was a beautician and an artist. She liked pretty things. Her children all inherited her creativity in their ability to make music and art. She loved warm weather, sunshine, and beaches and at various times lived in Jacksonville, FL, Corpus Christi, TX, and San Diego, CA. She was passionate about genealogy and in her pursuit to trace her lineage, became a member of the Colonial Dames and the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Ruth was the mother to five children: Michael (Cheri) Cherry of Boonville, William “Bill” Cherry (d. 1995) of Victoria, TX, Sherry Cherry Feeney of Indianapolis, Allen Wooldridge of Indianapolis, and Anne Wooldridge of Los Angeles. She was grandmother to 10, including Laurisa Largy, Monica Largy Soel, Cassie Largy Pham, Sloan Cherry, Josephine Wooldridge, whom she raised and with whom she shared a birthday, Nina Cherry, and Allison Feeney. She had 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Vernon, Don, Dave, and Velt Martin, half-sister Kathy June Whitaker, husband Rodolfo “Randy” Rodriquez, and beloved son William Cherry.
Services are under the direction of H.T. May & Sons Funeral Home-Boonville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association or The Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
