Ruth Mae Gay Harrison Sheets' Obituary
Ruth Mae Gay Sheets, 85, of Columbia, entered into the joy of the Lord on Saturday, March 9, 2013 surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at St. Luke United Methodist Church, burial will be in Southside cemetery in Fulton. Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm Wednesday at H.T. May and Son Funeral Home in Columbia.
Ruth Mae Sheets was born May 15, 1927 in Portland, Mo. She was married to Marvin Sheets Sr. on November 24, 1942. Ruth was a hardworking working woman and had several careers throughout her life. She retired from Ms. France’s Travel Club in 1993. She was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church
She leaves to cherish her memory two sons Alfred N. Sheets of Enoree, SC., and Marvin Sheets Jr. of Fulton, Mo., two daughters Frances Sheets and Lois Sheets of Columbia, Mo., one sister-in-law Christine Cochran, and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and 1 great-grand child.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one brother, two sisters, the youngest of which was Cinderella Gay Weaver, five nephews, and one cousin Garfield Evans.
