Ronald Lee Rowles, affectionately known as Ron, was a dedicated father and grandfather who loved his family fiercely and enjoyed spirited games of cards and dominoes with his friends and family. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend to many. Ron transitioned on Friday, February 3, 2023, in Raytown, Missouri, at the age of 75.
Ron was the third born child to his parents Arthur and Edith Rowles. He was born in the summer of 1947 on Thursday, July 3rd in Boonville, MO. He was welcomed into the family by older siblings Ruthellyn and John and would become the big brother to Larry, Eddie, Steve, Ricky, and Michael. After high school, he served his country in the United States Army. Following his service in the Army, he returned home and attended the University of Missouri, Columbia, graduating with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration. He then went on to earn his Masters in Business Administration from Rockhurst College in Kansas City. Professionally, Ron had an illustrious career in accounting administration, including many years with Hallmark Cards, Inc. and a few years as Vice President/Controller with Housing Development Corporation & Information Center. He also found decades of success and fulfillment as a contractor, building, rehabbing, and renting numerous houses in the Kansas City area. In 1971, Ron married Patricia Williams Rowles. In 1975, they became the proud parents to their only son, Patrick Christopher Rowles. Ron loved to have a good time with the people he loved. He was never known to turn down a trip to the boat, a game of cards with friends, or the opportunity to tell you just how he felt about something. He could lovingly trash talk his way through a game of dominoes like no one else: “Darlene, Marlene, & Charlene” (if you know, you know). His laugh was infectious and brought joy to those blessed enough to share the fun moments of his life. You never had to guess how he felt about his son, his grandson, or his granddaughters, as he was quick to share how proud he was of them and how much he loved and adored them.
Left here on earth to carry on his memory are his son, Patrick Christopher Rowles (Tommye), his three grandchildren, Dallis, Payton, and Patrick Christopher II; siblings Ruthellyn Rowles, John Rowles (Tammie), Eddie Rowles (Russana), Steve Rowles (Forescee), and Michael Rowles; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The immediate family members that preceded into glory are his parents, Arthur Rowles, Edith Rowles, and his brothers Ricky Rowles and Larry Rowles.
