Ronald Johnson Sr. 's Obituary
Ronald Johnson Sr., 72, of Sedalia, MO., entered into eternal life on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at St. Luke's hospital in Lee Summit, MO. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at 12 PM at Taylor Chapel UMC Church in Sedalia. A visitation will be held from 11 AM to 12 PM at the church on Tuesday.
Ronald E Johnson Sr., 72, was born on January 14, 1945, the son of Enos Larkin Johnson Sr and Alma Yancey Johnson in Kansas City MO. He was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 25th, 2017 at St Luke's East Hospital in Lee Summit MO.
He attended C.C. Hubbard Elementary School and C.C. Hubbard High School in Sedalia MO where he was an avid athlete and earned many accomplishments: All State Basketball, All Conference Football, baseball and track.
During his lifetime he worked many jobs, Sedalia Country Club, Flat Creek Inn Restaurant, Cocoa Cola Bottling Company, Rival Manufacturing, Dorn Cooney Laundry, BRHC, Temple Collision, Western& Southern Insurance, Howard Construction, Olin Howard Quarry, Jerry Baker Auto, but the one he was most proud of was being a police officer with the Sedalia Police Department whom he was with for 17 years retiring in 1998. He also enjoyed managing Club Unlimited on Main Street in Sedalia.
He was a member of Quinn Chapel AME Church later joining Burns Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, Centennial Lodge #59, the Sedalia Park Board, Sedalia park police, F.O.P, Mid Mo Major Case Squad, Youth football coach, Minniola Nursery Board and ran a Security detail for President Ronald Reagan when he visited the Missouri State Fair.
He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs and Royals fan. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. His daily phone calls and text messages will be truly missed by all, but mainly his grandchildren.
He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife Cassandra (Sandie) of the home, 1 sister Thurstina (Cookie) L Sweeney of Bryans Road, Maryland 3 sons, James D Stewart (LaRhonda) of Tuscon AZ, Terry E Stewart (Kelly) of Scottsdale AZ and Ron E Johnson Jr of Olathe KS. 3 daughters, Judith D Curd of Columbia MO, Carla Williams of Sedalia MO and Jennifer Johnson of Columbia MO. 28 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, a host of niece/nephews, cousins and friends.
He is preceded in death by both parents, Enos Sr and Alma Johnson, 2 brothers Marvin Yancey and Enos (JuJu) Johnson, 1 son Reese V Cline and 1 daughter Michelle Curd.
