Robert Graves' Obituary
Robert Graves, 91, of Columbia, passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2016, at South Hampton Place in Columbia. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 22, 2016, at 11 AM at Fifth Street Christian Church in Columbia. Visitation will be held from 10-11 AM at the church.
Robert Lawrence Graves Jr., 91, of Columbia, was called home on Saturday, December 17, 2016, at South Hampton Place. Robert was the proud son of Robert L. and Sally Maude (Williams) Graves Sr. in Boone County on August 2, 1925; He was a graduate Frederick Douglass School.
Robert resided in Denver, Colorado for most of his adult life. He worked as a secretary for the FBI and retired from -Woodman Insurance Company and returned home to care for his aging parents.
He enjoyed playing the piano and did so at the church he attended, 5th Street Christian Church. Bird watching was another enjoyment for him. He would spend lots of time feeding and watching birds at his home at South Hampton Place. During the time spent at South Hampton Place, Our Lady of Lords Catholic Church continued his spiritual growth with regular visits and spiritual enrichment.
Survivors include his favorite cousin, Alice Huge of Colorado, many nieces and nephews, a host of relatives and friends,
He was preceded in death by his parents, his only sibling, Sherman Brown Sr., and his dogs.
