Robert Eugene Gaines' Obituary
Robert “Big Bob” Gaines, 50, of Fayette Missouri passed into the arms of his Savior on Sunday, April 14, 2013. Funeral services will be held on Saturday April 20, 2013 at 2 pm at Linn Memorial United Methodist Church in Fayette. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm on Friday April 19, 2013 at HT May & Son Funeral Home in Fayette.
Robert, known to many as “Big Bob”, was born and raised in Fayette, MO. He attended the Fayette R-III school system and graduated from Fayette High School in 1981. After graduation Robert enlisted in the Navy and served his country for four years. Most recently Robert worked for Central Methodist University as Assistant Chef for Fresh Ideas. He also worked part time at Commercial Trust Company of Fayette, MO.
Robert was known to many as a great cook, devoted Washington Redskins fan, dedicated friend, loving brother and son.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Barbara J. Gaines and Robert L. Cooper.
He is survived by his son Robert Gaines , Jr. Six brothers: Anthony, Rodney, Ricky (Sheryl), and Kevin Gaines all of Columbia, MO; Richard Gaines of Fayette, MO; and Jimmy (Phyllis) Gaines of Moberly, MO. Six sisters: Debbie (Randy) Bynum of Kansas City, MO; Pamela Eubanks, Tina Gaines, Valerie (Tim) Gaines, Carol Gaines, and Elizabeth Crump all of Fayette, MO; also Vie (Ronnie) McQuitty of Fayette, MO who is like a sister. Robert is survived by three aunts , an uncle, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
