Robert Davis' Obituary
Robert Quinn Davis, 88, of Columbia, MO, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at Blue Ridge Nursing Home.
Robert (Bob) Quinn Davis Jr. was born December 14th, 1933. He passed away on May 20th, 2026, at 88 years old. His parents were Daisy June Grace, and her married name was Ladell. His father was Robert Quinn Davis Senior. Bob owned and operated Grace’s Four Generations convenience store and restaurant. I, Carolyn Barnes Arenella, was 19 years old when I became a waitress at his restaurant and first met Bob in 1974. His wife was Susan Knowles Davis, and she preceded him in death in August 2024.
Bob had a great love of basketball, and he was a student at the University Lab school. Bob and Susan had no children, and he came to live at the Villa on Blue Ridge Road in 2024. Bob was an active member for many years at Odd Fellows Lodge off Walnut Street. He also was an active member at the United Methodist Church off 9th street in Columbia, Missouri
Bob and Carolyn became reacquainted at the Villa. We shared meals together, music, and lots of stories of our past lives. Bob loved Carolyn's children and grandchildren. We discussed marriage but because of finances and health reasons, we decided to remain good, close friends. Bob told wonderful stories of growing up here in Columbia, Missouri. He had a wonderful sense of humor, and we often laughed and had a good time together. Bob and I were friends for 52 years. He will be greatly missed. I am thankful for this wonderful friendship and mostly to know that he loved God and looked forward to being in heaven.
Patti Struckhoff and her mother Lana Peterman, Bob's cousins, had lost track of Bob and found him here at the Villa in December 2025. Lana and Bob grew up together and often talked about childhood games and playing together.
