Robert Booyer's Obituary
Robert Leroy Booyer, 82, of Sedalia entered into eternal rest on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Boone Hospital Center. A memorial service will be held in Robert's honor at 2:00 p.m. on March 18, 2017 at Antioch Fellowship, 507 W. 24th Street, Sedalia, MO with Pastor Steve Graff officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 at the Church.
Robert L. Booyer, 82 years old, died February 16, 2017 At Boone Hospital, Columbia, MO. He was born October 1, 1934 to Jesse Leroy Booyer and Vivian Levon (Schenck) Booyer in Iowa City, IA.
Robert lived a full life. He was a champion bull-rider, served as a policeman and as a fireman. He drove over-the-road trucks for thirty years. Robert was a Vietnam-era veteran, serving in that conflict, as well as spending time in Germany. He was in the Army's Green Beret forces. He spent 14 years in total in service to his country.
He is survived by 2 sons, and 4 daughters. Glen Booyer of Halfway, Mo; Michael Bailey and wife Laurie Smith, of Independence, Mo; Levon Booyer, of Springfield, Mo; Tammie Raines and husband Bill, of Sedalia MO; Amber Reed and husband David, of Sedalia, MO; and Rachael Smith of Sedalia, MO. Robert is also survived by a sister, Maxine Rogers and 14 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Vernon Booyer, two sisters, Sally Schenck, and Janet Booyer, and two grandchildren, Christopher Booyer, and Willow Raines.
