Robert D Banks' Obituary
Robert D. Banks, 58, of Boonville, MO, passed away on Friday, May 10,2019 at University of Missouri Hospital. Services will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2019, at 2 pm at Firm Foundation Foursquare Church in Boonville. Visitation will be from 12 to 2 pm Saturday at the church.
Robert Darryl Banks, 58, of Boonville, MO was called home on Friday, May 10, 2019 at 4:22 a.m. at the University of Missouri Hospital. Robert was born May 27, 1960 to the late James Coleman Banks and Sara Louise Greene Banks.
Robert was a 1978 graduate of Boonville High School. He was united in marriage to Wanda Taylor on March 25, 2006. He was employed with Holsum Bakery and Bobber’s Café for a number of years. He was a strong and faithful member of New Hope Christian Church. He continued his Christian walk with Firm Foundation Four Square Church under the leadership of Rev. Mel Eaton.
Robert leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter, Kylie Nicole Welch, his nephew, Ricky (April) Trigg and his wife Wanda Banks. In this marital union, Robert was blessed with two more children, Dana Mangels and Gilbert (Aleatha) Mangels.
He also leaves to honor his memory his great-nieces, Lachelle Trigg-Hockaday,Allie Banks, Tara Banks, Taylor Banks, Alexis Trigg, Kingsley Banks and his great- nephew Michael Trigg. Robert is also survived by a host of cousins, great- great nephews, great-great niece and extended family.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Margaret Banks, niece, Tina Trigg and nephew, Allen Banks.
Affectionately known as “Bob”, Robert Darryl with his huge, infectious smile and robust laughter, did not mind sharing his testimony with anyone. He never complained but always gave all honor and glory to God. Bob would lift his hands in praise; pointing his finger towards the heavens and say “But God . . . ” His favorite scriptures were John 3:16 and Matthew 22:35-40. Robert truly loved the Lord, his family and friends with all of his heart. He was at the YMCA every morning exercising faithfully. He loved spending quality time with his family and enjoyed socializing with friends at the Main Street Pub on Saturday nights. You would always see Bob dressed to the nines, riding all over town on his mobility scooter. For Bob, it was another day’s journey. He didn’t let life pass him by. He lived and loved his life to the fullest.
