I met Richard when I was a very young child, he worked with my mother at Head Start in Slater Missouri. I grew up knowing Richard and I remember him seeing us in the yard playing, he would honk, always wave, and sometimes even stop to visit for a short bit. He was like a family member to me and even in my adult years he always had a smile and a greeting and asked how everyone in the family was doing (especially my mother). Richard will be greatly missed and my condolences go out to his family, may you find comfort in this time of sorrow. See you on the other side, Richard!
Richard where's my friend I couldn't have asked for a better friend I remember the night I was at work and the wind chill was 35 degrees below zero I had two doors of my guard shack that kept blowing open and the heater was not working I was literally about to freeze to death I had numerous layers of coats and blankets on and Richard says I will bring you a heater out I told him no the weather was too awful for him to get out in he says well if you change your mind let me know well about a half an hour later I didn't have to change my mind because I looked out and there was Richard there's not a day that goes by that I don't think of my buddy we've been close friends for the last 10 years rest in peace Richard my dear friend my king fly high soar like an eagle Thanks for the Memories until we meet again
Met Richard through work at Marshall State School and Hospital back in the early 1980's. Continued to see him after he left there just 'around town' - Richard was a soft-spoken, always kind, with a quiet sense of humor, and a smile that could turn any bad day into a great one - always enjoyed meeting him (or passing him on the highway so he could lecture me on my driving the next time we ran into each other!). Richard always seemed at peace, taking life slow and steady. I will miss those 'meet ups' for sure. See you again some day Richard.
My special memory of Richard Wayne is from high school. He was my date to the prom. A very handsome figure in a white jacket and bow tie. My condolences to his family. He will be missed!
Richard (Wayne) and I were good friends thru grade school and high school. We played a lot of one on one basketball together and I took him with me to some of the races when our car was racing. I got to visit with him at some of the race tracks and our last class reunion. He was a great guy. My sympathies to the family. RIP Wayne
