Richard Darnell Johnson's Obituary
Richard D. "Sparky" Johnson, 46, of Columbia, MO, passed away on Saturday at his home, January, 11, 2020 at his home. Services will be held Saturday, January 25, 2020, at 1 PM at Friendship Baptist Church in Columbia. Visitation will be from 11 AM to 1 PM at the church.
Richard Darnell "Sparky" Johnson was born July 4, 1973 in Columbia, Missouri the son of Artwell and Jennie Wright Johnson. He was educated at Jack and Jill Nursery School, Grant Elementary, West Jr. High, Rock Bridge Senior High and Moberly Jr. College. He was nicknamed "Sparky" at an early age.
He worked as a laborer with Arts and Sons Masonry for many years, Machens Auto Service, and Hy-Vee Groceries. He was also active in coaching the CYF Raiders for many years.
He is survived by his mother Jennie Johnson, one daughter Kyrah A. Johnson, one son Xzavier Mcquitty, one sister Sherry Chapman, one brother Michael E. Johnson (April), two nieces Ranika Jenkins and Kelli Johnson, two great nephews De'Kendre Jenkins Sr. and Fernando Jenkins, Jr, one great niece Ze'Nyia Jenkins, one great-great nephew De'Kendre Jenkins Jr., two aunts Josephine Kelly and Nora Johnson, a host of cousins and friends. He also leaves special friends Sean Thornton, Jonah Ganaway, Jason Grant, BeCarr Washington, Barry and Kathy Lewis, Charles "Zeke" Williams, Marcus Mandell Turner, Lewis Tucker, Erik Turner(Sidelines) and His other Special Family "TONY'S PIZZA PALACE".
He was preceded in death by his father, one brother, grandparents, two aunts, one uncle and one brother-in-law.
