Richard Bush's Obituary
Richard Bush, 57, of Fayette, MO., passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at University of Missouri Hospital. Services will be held on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at 11 AM at Faith Family Church in Fayette, Missouri. A visitation will be held from 10-11 AM at the church.
Richard (better known as "Ricky") was born August 21, 1959, to Gussie E. Bush and Floyd Leonard in Fayette, Missouri.
Ricky graduated from Fayette High School in 1977, and enlisted into the United States Army shortly after graduating. He was an E-4 Specialist and served his country for four years.
Ricky took up boxing while in the service and earned the nickname "The Champ". He played football in high school, loved the Missouri Tigers, and loved his son Lamont. Ricky enjoyed being around family and friends, and in his younger days enjoyed the company of his lady friends.
Ricky was preceded in death by his parents Gussie E. Bush, and Floyd Leonard, one brother Terry Bush, one sister Betty Broadus, one niece Patricia Bush, and a granddaughter Ariyana Williams.
He leaves to cherish his memory a son Lamont Houston, six grandchildren, six sisters, Vicky Bush of Fayette, Missouri; Sheila (Troy) Chapman of Fayette, Missouri; Elizabeth Bush of Lenexa, Kansas; Mary Lee Key-Cross of Columbia, Missouri; Racheal Leonard of Columbia, Missouri; Teresa Hinkle of Stockton, California; five brothers, John Bush of Columbia, Missouri; Randy Bush of Fayette, Missouri; Steve Bush of Columbia, Missouri; Chuckie Turner of Minneapolis, Minnesota; and Nathaniel Conway of Fayette, Missouri, a great uncle Robert Lee (Maudestine) Panel of National City, California, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
The family would like to thank the Maple Lawn Residential Care Facility and their staff for their love and support of Ricky during his time of stay.
