Phyllis Young's Obituary
Phyllis Young, 71, of Kansas City, MO, formerly of Columbia, MO, passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at Life Care Center in Grandview, MO. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2019, at Emannuel Baptist Church in Kansas City, MO, at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be from 10-11AM Saturday at the church. A visitation will be held on Friday, July 26, 2019 at St. Luke United Methodist Church in Columbia from 6-8 pm.
Evangelist Phyllis Ann Young was born April 4, 1948 to Raymond Martin and Evelyn “Estelle” Martin at home in Columbia, Mo. Phyllis graduated in 1966 from David Hickman High School in Columbia, Mo. Phyllis went on to own and operate Styles by Miles for over 20 years.
Phyllis came to accept Christ at a very young age. Phyllis was baptized at Log Providence Church in Columbia, Mo and was a member of Emmanuel Church of Kansas City, Mo. Phyllis gave birth to three sons, Anthony D. Martin Sr, Larry “Man” Martin and John “Sanchez” Martin. Phyllis also had a bonus son Larry Anthony Douglas.
Phyllis is joined in Heaven by her husband Allen Young, Parents Raymond and Evelyn “Estelle” Martin, Sons Anthony and John SanChez Martin, Brothers John “Babe” Martin, Michael “Rabbit” Martin and Raymond James Martin Jr. and one sister Carolyn Taylor.
Phyllis leaves behind a son Larry “Man” Martin, Sister Louise (Oscar) Williams of Moberly, Sister Deloris (Todd) Drew of Kansas City, MO and Sister Donna Martin of Boonville, MO One brother George Stapleton of Columbia, MO, Best friends Linda Campbell and Myrtle Montgomery and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
