Phillip Edward Madison's Obituary
Phillip Edward Madison, 61, of Columbia answered the call of Jesus on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at Boone Hospital Center. Funeral Services will be Saturday May 5, 2012 at 2PM at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Fayette, MO. Visitation will be from 1-2PM at the church. Burial will be in the Fayette City Cemetery.
Phillip was born November 26, 1950 in Fayette, Missouri, the son of Eugene and Ora Lewis Madison. He was a former student at Fayette High School. He dedicated his life to Christ at an early age. Phillip was married to Janie Hubbard in 1977. To that union two daughters, Quinn and Kendra, were born.
Phillip worked for the University Book Store for more than 20 years. He was known for being a meticulous and hardworking employee and was loved by those that worked with him.
Phillip was also known for his love of the Kansas City Chiefs (win or lose) and the Missouri Tigers. He earned the nicknames “Cha Cha” and “Philco” from friends and family. He often was found joking with his brother in law “Boots” about the size of his nose, while retaliating with the common phrase “I ain’t worried bout it, babe.” He thoroughly enjoyed Snickers candy bars and Cheez-Its and could always be found wiping down his car to make sure it was clean. Phillip was persistent in doing things his way, but was always available for a kind word and true advice for friends. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandson Malachi.
Phillip leaves to cherish his memory his daughters; Quinn (Marc) Stuckey of Peoria, Illinois and Kendra (Kenneth) Madison-Armour of Columbia, Missouri. Two sisters: Gloria Jean (Sterling) Barnette of Fayette, MO and Mary Lee Cravens of Columbia, MO. One brother: Larry (Ruby) Madison of Columbia, MO. Five Grandchildren: Malachi Cobbins, Mariah Stuckey, Myla Stuckey, Ki’aire Madison, and Kendall Madison. Five nieces and three nephews. Phillip also leaves to treasure his memory a host of great nieces, nephews, and friends.
