Patricia Jean Kelly's Obituary
Patricia Jean Kelly January 17, 1963 – October 8, 2022
Patty Kelly was called to her eternal rest on October 8, 2022. She was 59 years old.
Patty was born in Detroit, Michigan, the third and youngest child of Mike and Sophie Kelly, sibling of brother Michael and sister Cathy. She attended Our Lady Gate of Heaven grade school and St. Alphonsus HS. In 1984 she completed her certification in Radiologic Technology (ARRT) (R) (M) from the Mount Carmel Mercy Hospital School of Radiologic Technologies. Patty moved to Las Vegas, NV in 1995 to be near her parents, and continued practicing her craft as a Radiologic Technologist in Las Vegas and Henderson, NV for 25 years.
Patty loved animals, especially horses, and they were a large part of her life. Patty worked as an equine trainer for many years and owned and showed horses. She loved her companion animals just as much and raised numerous dogs and cats throughout her life. In her youth the family home was always filled with all sorts of animals. It didn’t matter if it was a guinea pig, rabbit, snake, tropical fish, racing pigeons or injured bird. Patty loved and cared for them all. Patty’s exuberant spirit and outgoing nature endeared her to many friends, some of whom like herself struggled with mental illness. She worked hard to attain balance in her life and became a DBSA Facilitator (Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance) to help others. In the summer of 2021 Patty relocated to Columbia, MO and quickly made many friends in her new town.
She is survived by her sister Cathy Kelly, sister-in-law Elaina Kelly and nephews David Kelly and Evan Kelly.
A service honoring her memory will be held at First Baptist Church at a later date. In lieu of flowers a donation to your favorite animal shelter in Patty's memory will carry on her love of animals.
“Grant her eternal life Oh Lord, and may perpetual light shine upon her.”
