Ora Mae Hogan's Obituary
Ora Mae Hogan, 92, of Sedalia took flight to her heavenly father on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at Four Seasons Living Center in Sedalia. Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Friday, July 1, 2011 at Wards Memorial Baptist Church, burial in Crown Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12-1 pm Friday at the church.
Ora Mae Hogan was born May 5, 1919 in Georgetown, Mo. the daughter of William and Viola Thuston.
On January 12, 1950 she was united in marriage to Walker William Hogan and he preceded her in death on November 16, 1980. To this union brought two daughters Walk Ann Woolery of Sedalia and Marilyn Sypes.
Mrs. Hogan wasa a sucessful businesswoman of the city, owning and operating along with her husband the Handiest Laundry for 11 1/2 years.
She was an active member of Wards Memorial Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the motherboard and sang in the senior choir along with other organizations, until her health became inpaired. She loved to spend her time with her family, especially her grandkids, and she loved cooking.
She is survived by her daughter Walk Ann Woolery(Russell) of Sedalia, step-son Billy B. Hogan(Mattie) of Grandview, Mo., step-daughter Gloria Pryor of Columbia, SC., grandson Dustin Hogan of Sedalia, and son-in-law Darrell Sypes of Sedalia, she alos leaves to mourn her death several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Marilyn Sypes, one grandson Michael Hogan, three sisters Maude Clark, Lucille Thuston, and Lydia Frye, three brothers Mayo Thuston, Cecil Thuston and Tommy Thuston.
