Octavia Charisse Scott's Obituary
Ms. Octavia Charisse Hayes Scott, 63, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, formerly of Columbia, Missouri, met her Lord and Savior on July 7, 2020. Octavia is now free to walk in glory after the pain of living with the effects of the stroke she had two years ago.
Octavia was born on March 25, 1957 in Columbia, Missouri to George and Jewell Davis. A big personality, Octavia loved nothing more than cooking amazing food and entertaining family and friends. Her social calendar was always full, whether she was spending time with her church families at both Fairview and St. Paul AME churches where she was an active member, volunteering at Blue Ridge elementary school, or playing bingo. She was a warm, generous person who never met a stranger, and everyone knew they could always reach out to her for love, conversation, humor, support, some great cake or pie, or even a babysitter for their children. Octavia loved everyone.
She is proceeded in death by her parents as well as her sisters Stephanie Hutchen and Antiquilla Hayes.
Octavia is survived by her daughter Chavonne Stinson of Jeffersonville, Indiana, and two grandsons that were the lights of her life, Casear Robinson and Kieran Forrest. She is also survived by her sister Margaret Williams of Louisville, Kentucky and brother Ian Davis (Lisa) of Milton, Florida, and her treasured niece Shawna Hayes and a host of other family members.
Due to the current COVID crisis, her family will host a celebration of life ceremony later this year in Columbia. While Octavia loved a good social event, she would never want to put her friends and family in harm’s way. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in Octavia’s memory be made to Stroke Association.
