Mildred Wade's Obituary
Mildred Leona Wade,76, of Bossier City, LA., formerly of Sedalia,Mo. entered into eternal rest on Sunday, February 9, 2014 in Bossier City, La. Funeral services will be held on Saturday February 15, 2014 at 12 pm at True Vine Church of God in Christ in Sedalia. The visitation will be held from 11 am- 12 pm Saturday at the church.
Mildred was born to the late Jessie Bell and Louise Ousley on May 23, 1937 in Sedalia, Missouri. She accepted Christ at an early age joining the Jones Holy Temple Church of God in Christ. When she was ten years old her mom passed away so she went to live with her aunts, Ella Mae Smith and Helen Ousley. She was raised by her aunts and her grandparents, Eugenia and Sherman Bell. After graduating from Hubbard High School she married Albert Wade in 1960. “Twinkie” was a proud mother of one daughter, Brenda. When Albert retired after 25 years in the Air Force they moved to Kansas City, Missouri.
Mildred “Twinkie” Wade was a devoted mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, wife, and friend. She loved her grandchildren dearly. She rededicated her life to Christ while attending Morningstar Baptist Church in Kansas City Missouri under Rev. John Miles. In the latter part of her life she moved to Louisiana to be with her daughter Brenda Burnham. While there she attended Stonewall Baptist Church under Reverend Uelyss Reed Jr. She is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles.
“Twinkie” leaves to cherish her precious memories: her husband Albert Wade, her daughter Brenda Burnham, three grandchildren ~ Terri Levesque with her husband Joey of Bossier City Louisiana, Gregory Burnham of Atlanta Georgia, and Kelly Burnham and fiancé Tina of Bossier City Louisiana. She was the proud great grandmother of nine wonderful children~ Omar, Ayanna, Amber, Ashley, Allison, Jeremiah, Kaleb, Jordan and Isaiah. She leaves her one foster sister Arwilda (Cookie) and her husband Noah, their daughter Janelle and husband Marcus and their daughter Sakkyra. She also leaves behind her foster brother Ronald Spencer, little Linda and husband Gary and their children Jade and Dymond, Nephew Butch and wife Yulanda and their son Louis, a Son in law William Burnham and a granddaughter in law Angel Burnham-Smith. She leaves her brother in law, Thomas Wade and Deloris Wade of Atlanta, one sister in law Elle Marie Harris. She leaves her special friend Louise Whitfield to remember all the fun times they shared, especially the many times they got lost together trying to find garage sales. She also leaves behind her close cousins Barbara and Donnie Bell and wonderful caretakers Regina, Angela, Rechelle, and Doris and many, many family members and loved ones.
