Michael Eugene White's Obituary
Michael Eugene White, 45, of Kokomo, Indiana, passed away on Thursday July 23, 2015 at St. Vincent Health in Kokomo. Services will be held Friday July 31, 2015 at 11 AM at Alexander-May Funeral Home in Sedalia. A Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM on Thursday July 30, 2015 at the funeral home.
Michael Eugene "Mike" White was born November 4, 1969, in Sedalia, Missouri, The son of the late William Edward White and Estelle Ruth Miller. Michael loved all sports especially basketball. He graduated from Smith Cotton High School 1987. Michael spent most of his life in Sedalia before joining the United States Navy, serving from 1989 to 1993. He was station in Seattle Washington. He also served in the Gulf War in Kuwait, code name Operation Desert Storm, from 1990 to 1991.
Michael returned home with an honorable discharge from the Navy. He worked at several of the factories. He decided to move to Columbia Missouri working at MiTek, were he worked for several years. In 2006 Michael relocated to Jefferson City, Mo. He worked as the Head Housemen for the Truman Hotel. He also worked as a cook at Lee’s Famous Chicken. He also worked part time at Kentucky Fried Chicken until their closing. He became a member of One In Christ Baptist Church in Jefferson City, Mo
In 2012 the move to Kokomo was an adventure for Michael. He worked at Kentucky Fried Chicken as a cook until his health prevented him. Michael started focusing on Ministry becoming a Deacon at Grace Memorial Institution Church of God, January 1, 2015. He was also the Vice President of the church’s mentoring program. In his new role he made a very important impact on the youths he was working with. He served in this position until his transition
Michael is survived by one daughter Deshanee’ Burton (James) of Federal Way, Washington, one son Davante’ White of Fulton, MO; two sisters Julia Yvonne Miller Jefferson City, Mary Maupins (Ricky) Jefferson City, Mo; three brothers Jesse Lee Miller Sr. Warrensburg, MO; William Edward Gunnerson Sedalia, MO and Travis Stevens of Blue Springs, Mo; two step sisters Donna Bradford(George) and Dianne Elaine Buckner both of Sedalia, MO. A host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends. His dear companion Missy Wooten Kokomo, IN, two special friends and the mothers of his children, Kim House Federal Way, Washington and Lacy (Smith) Baraku. His dear and great childhood friends, who are more like brothers, Anderson Fry Jr. Springfield, MO, Rodney Scroggins, Galen Marshall, Tony Poindexter, Conylus Newbill all of Sedalia; and Tom Jones of San Diego, CA.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, one sister, one brother, one aunt, and one uncle.
