Michael Poindexter, 49, of Sedalia, MO, passed away on Saturday,October 20, 2018 in Jefferson City, MO. Services will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Burns Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, there will be a visitation Friday, October 26, 2018 from 6pm. - 8p.m. at Alexander May Funeral home located at 400 West Cooper, Sedalia, MO.
Michael Dale (Boona Foona) Poindexter was born March 19, 1969 to the late Rose Poindexter and Wilson Curd. Michael attended the Sedalia 200 public schools. Michael worked for Waterloo now Black & Decker for the past 26 years. He held various position while at Black & Decker (Waterloo) and recently claimed the position of group leader in his department.
He gave his life to Christ in his thirties at Burns Chapel Free Will Baptist church. In December of 1995 he married his best friend, Darlene.
Michael Dale enjoyed fishing with his big brother Gordy, his sons, uncles, and cousins. He was a master on the grill and the smoker. He loved his family unconditionally and was a diehard KC CHIEFS fan. His favorite pass time activity was to lay in his bed with his grandkids surrounding him. He loved his truck called "Ruby" and his latest passion was when he joined in the family of the "So Sick Crew" where he would ride for the peace and freedom of it all.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Darlene of the home. 8 children Mikki Poindexter, Derek (Britnie) Bartlett, De'Michael (Amber) Poindexter, Nahkya Manns, Tramone Poindexter, DeVonte' (Nakiya) Poindexter, Wynter Harms, Elijah Poindexter, one God given son James J. Jackson and his stepfather Charles Thornton.
10 Siblings, Gordon (Maxine) Poindexter, Alana Thornton, Charlessa(Freddie) Thomas, Judy Curd, Melissa "Lisa" Kay, Bri'Ana Thornton, Charles Thornton Jr, James Thornton,Raynescha (Jonathan) Kundert, Derek Gordan, 9 grandchildren and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Proceeded in death by his parents, a son, Michael Poindexter II, a sister and three uncles.
