Maurette “Darlene” Jackson, 75, of Boonville, MO, passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at her children's home in Independence, MO. Services will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at 2:00 PM at New Life in Christ Ministries in Boonville. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the church on Saturday. Maurette “Darlene” Jackson, age 75, was born on August 31, 1948, in Bunceton, Missouri to Merlin and Alfreda Lewis. Educated in Bunceton public schools, she worked as a nursing assistant and cook for various places in Boonville, Missouri.
Professing her faith and accepting Christ as her Lord and Personal Savoir at an early age, she was baptized at Mt. Zion Baptist in Bunceton, Missouri.
On August 9, 1968, Darlene married Dewey Jackson in Bunceton, Missouri and they made their home in Boonville, Missouri. To this union three children were born: a daughter, Theresea M. Wiggins (Richard) of Independence, Missouri, two sons, Terry James Jackson (Adrian Patrice) of Kansas City and Tyrone Dewayne Jackson of Boonville, Missouri.
Darlene loved spending time with her family; she will best be remembered for the charming things that vividly characterized her life; her love of cooking, watching westerns, taking care of others, and acting as a mom to her brothers and sisters.
Cherishing her precious memory; her children whom she loved dearly; her grandchildren: Rashad Jackman, Andrea Jackson, Tyree Jackson, Terron Jackson, Katasia Titherington, Venile Givens, Vincent Givens, Latresh Jackson, Trevon Jackson, Aleah Walters, Gauge Sharp and Jada Pearl; her Great-Grandchildren: Vincent Givens III, Ahlani Rudd, Skylar Odoms, Deyton and Dakota Odoms, Ryiah and Raelyn Sharp, Gage Sharp Jr., Lauryn Clark, Semari Clark, Wolf Daviess, and Braxton Jackman; her three sisters: Sharon Lewis (Boonville, MO), Tina Lewis and Marvella Lewis (Columbia, MO); her brother Maurice (Lorna) Miles (Moberly, MO); her brother and sister-in-law’s: Russell Jackson, Chris Cowans, Jack Cowans, Homer Cowans, Eunice Wright, Alberta Jackson, and Margie Cowans: and her special mom: Mayme Williams (Moberly, MO), as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dewey, her parents Merlin and Alfreda Lewis, her father and mother-in-law Frankie Dewey Jackson and Jerneal Cowans, a brother Mern Lewis, three brother-in-law’s and four sisters-in-law’s.
