Maryette Doriselle Wayland, of Fayette, was born April 27, 1964 to Leona Banks Wayland and Frederick E. Wayland, at UMC, Columbia, Missouri. She was the third born of four children. She was 56 years old when the Lord received her into His arms on February 20, 2021 at UMC, Columbia, Missouri.
She was educated in the Fayette public school system, from which she graduated. She worked at the National Garment factory, Braun Nursing Home, Fayette Caring Center, and also as a teacher's aide at the Fayette school system.
She loved going to church. At a very early age she attended the Church of God in Christ where her Uncle Ruben Paige was the pastor. When her family started attending Second Baptist Church (SBC), the children attended also. She was baptized on May 4, 1975 and was a devoted servant to the ministries at SBC where she served in the choir as a member and officer and also on the devotional and worship team. She loved being in service at church whether in Fayette or in the Mt. Zion Baptist District, and was a willing worker in whatever capacity she was needed. She was known for her strength and perseverance. She knew more struggles throughout her life than many of us will ever know. She truly loved the Lord, and her faith sustained her; she trusted in God, and He provided. She loved to read and recite poems during church programs and services, and continued to worship and serve the Lord until she was called "home".
She leaves to cherish her memory her mother Leona Wayland, one sister Jaelyn (Ray) Duncan, one brother Frederic Dale (Kimberly) Wayland, both of Fayette; two aunts, Helen I. Clay of Des Moines, IA and Gladys P. Roland of Columbia, MO, three nieces, Alyshia Edgenton of Kansas City, MO, Rachel Wayland of Fayette, MO and Viola Wayland of Boonville, MO, one nephew Scott Wayland of Boonville, MO, one special cousin Cuqrita N. Whitley of Columbia, MO, and a host of cousins, other relatives, friends and her church family.
She was preceded in death by her father Frederick Wayland, grandparents Mary M. Banks, Cordie Paige, Charlie and Ruby Dameron Wayland, one sister Vicki Waynette Wayland, nine aunts and eight uncles.
