Mary Lee Paige's Obituary
Mary Lee “M.P.” Paige, 68, was born January 14, 1942 in Fayette, MO to Laura Thelma Powell and Orville McKee. Her mother, father, sister, and maternal and paternal grandparents preceded her in death. Mary Lee Paige, a resident of Muskogee, OK, departed this life on Thursday, March 18, 2010. At an early age, she was baptized at St. Paul Methodist Church in Fayette, MO. She was affiliated with many churches and last attended Peters Chapel A.M.E. Church, Muskogee, OK and First Baptist/Summit Church, Summit, OK. She attended Lincoln Elementary and graduated from Fayette High School. After graduating she resided in Fayette, MO until moving to Columbia, MO to begin her employment endeavors. Because of her husband’s career she was introduced to travel, moving from state to state. In Columbia, MO, she was employed at 3M Company for 6 years. She then moved on to Kansas City, MO where she was employed at Lake City Ammunition Plant for several years. In 1969, the Lord blessed them and she gave birth to Nevin who was called her “miracle baby”. Her next move was to Richmond, VA where she was employed for a local photography studio. Next stop, on to Leavenworth, KS for 3 years enjoying cooking, shopping, and meeting new friends. Traveling on to Hyattsville, MD for her longest stop of 20 years, she was employed at Comcast Cable in Sales. Her final travel and stop was in Muskogee, OK, where she and husband both retired and enjoyed good southern food, shopping, travel, and making more new and lasting friends. Mary was a very sophisticated lady that you could always find shopping for that perfect outfit that matched from head to toe. She had a personality that was gregarious and she never met a stranger. Through her suffering and sickness, she never complained and never asked for much. She leaves cherishing memories to her longtime soul mate, friend and devoted husband, Charles D. Paige of the home; a dear son, Nevin Charles Paige, Baltimore, MD; siblings, a devoted sister, Helen M. Jackman, Columbia, MO, a dear brother, Ralph Powell, Columbia, MO; a special loving granddaughter, Nia Paige-Neloms, Bowie, MD, a cherished grandson, Ethan Butler-Paige, Bonaire, GA; special godchildren, Kayla (Andre) Betts, Columbia, MO and Christopher Phillips, Clinton, MD; aunts, Elnora Helmon, Des Moines, IA, Bertha White, Los Angeles, CA, Jackie Thompson, Boonville, MO, Lannie (Albert) Mitchum, Raytown, MO, Louise (Kirby) Holloway, Kansas City, MO, Dee Dee Tatum, Kansas City, MO, Teresa (Bob) Williams, Marshall, MO; uncles, Kenneth (Doris) Broadus, Columbia, MO, Nathan (Gina) Broadus, Columbia, MO; sister-in-laws, Shirley Daniels, Kansas City, MO, Sara Wilkinson, Kennesaw, GA; brother-in-law, Terry (Deloris) Paige, Kansas City, MO; special cousin, Eddie Dean Powell, Grand Rapids, MI; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and some very special friends from so many places.
