Mary was faithful to her church, St. Luke United Methodist Church and was always the first to start the Joys and Concern, prayer time. Her special prayer was always former Pastor, the late Rev. Raymond Hayes and Sis. Celestine. She wasn't ashamed to tell the congregation how much she loved "her Pastor and his wife". She would testify that she had changed her old ways and given her life to Christ and folks need to change and give their life to Jesus too.
Miss Mary will be missed in the community. Special thanks to her drivers Martha and Colleen. The neighborhood watchmen, Dennis, John Boy and her neighbor across the street.
Jamie, her longtime mail carrier, said he never saw Miss Mary without a smile, she was always cheerful which made his day much better.
If anyone ever wanted a good hot meal on Sundays, Miss Mary was the ideal cook. She always prepared a Sunday meal, even if she wasn't feeling well. But the only problem Miss Mary with her meals, was the quantity. Always enough to feed an army.
Special thanks to the healthcare workers from Compass Family Health and Dr. Shoemaker, UMC and his staff for the care given to Mary.
